Write your own story

We had a wonderful moment of success in Room 4 Literacy this morning as we completed our Get NZ Writing activities and put our post cards together. It had been quite a journey - the highs of writing our poem, the low of thinking we had misplaced some of the postcards and the high of finding them again and making the shared artwork!

These activities have really stretched us to consider the vocabulary we used. We needed to pick words precisely as we only had a few lines for our poetry (see an example below)

Each postcard had a picture on the back and when we put them all together it spelled out a message.

  1. Kia Ora PES Room 4,

My name is Katelynn and I am a year 8 at Grey Main School in Totara 1!

Looks like you have been busy working on your poem and poster for the 'Get NZ writing'! Did you have fun completing these activities? I loved doing ours for my poem I had the golden key when I changed it to a anagram I got donkey leg! How weird is that?!

I like how you have included pictures of your postcards and a picture of you all with the postcards together. I like how you have also wrote about what you are doing in the blog post, you included lots of detail.

What was your favourite tiny object in the tin? Mine would have to be the golden key. It was very detailed!

Keep up all of the great work PES Room 4!

  3. Hi Pt England school., It's Mikael from yaldhurst. I like how you have exspland what you are doing and how you have added lots of photos. It looks really good. Next time I think that you should maybe try to say what you are doing a bit more.
