As we are studying living organisms for our inquiry, we decided to get some class pets: Aqua Dragons. This morning we learnt that their eggs were able to lie dormant (a bit like hibernating) in a state called diapose, until they come into contact with water. This means that are able to survive through hard times outside of their habitat!
This morning we hatched the eggs for the first time, so there is not much to see at the moment, but very soon we will have a full tank of Aqua Dragons! We are going to observe them at each stage of their life cycle.
Hello PES, my name is Parwin and I am a year from Yaldhurst Model School!
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you now have Aqua dragons as a class pet and its pretty interesting too. This reminded me of when we had a class pet which was when I was a year 5 and we had rats which were names Bubbles and Kylo Ren. I actually picked the name Bubble! Have you thought about the names yet? Its also great that you have added WHY as well. Are you guys happy with your pet? if you could pick any class pet, what would it be?
Awesome work!
Looking forward to your next blog posts,
Parwin
Hi Parwin.
ReplyDeleteI'm Bethan and I'm a student in room 4. I can't believe you had a rat for a class pet! It's so cool that you named one! I wish we could name our fish but we will probably have so many we can't name them. I'm happy with our pet but if I had to choose one I would choose a cockatoo.
Cheers
Bethan

ReplyDeleteHello Room 4 of Point England School! I am Sam from Yaldhurst Model School,
ReplyDeleteI think that it is amazing that you guys were allowed to get a class pet, Don't you? Way way back, when I was younger, I remember that we used to have two pet axolotl's, I don't remember their names but I do remember the names of these other class pets that we used to have. They were two mice, one named 'Kylo Ren' and the other named 'Bubbles'. Great Blog Post!
Do you know how long it will take until the Aqua Dragons grow?
Sam
Kia ora Room 4, I'm Thom from Yaldhurst.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know what Aqua dragons were until my friend just showed me and they are really cool.
This is a great idea for something fun to do.
It's cool how when they are in water they hatch, this is a really cool experiment to do.
I remember we used to have school pets at our school, there were three rats, Ratatouille, Kylo Ren and Bubbles. They were in Kauri.
Nice work.
Do more awesome things.
But most importantly keep blogging.
From Thom.
