Triangle Numbers (Pisirina)

Today we focussed on doing patterns. We discovered triangle numbers. We also learnt that there can be several patterns and number patterns in anything. In this triangle we found many patterns such  as the Triangle numbers and in the sum of each line we found a pattern too.

Triangle numbers are the numbers that make triangles of different sizes. We imagined them as if we were stacking cups into pyramids. Every time the pyramid gets bigger the base increases by one - the first has a base size of 1, then 2, then 3 and so on.
                                               

I learnt that even a pattern like 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on can be a pattern too. Also to sometimes forget about the image and focus on the number to find out the rule and to just explore with maths.
