Welcome to Room 4 Literacy

Mrs Stone was blown away this morning by her fantastic literacy learners. They had excellent communication, co-operation and collaboration.

We started the lesson by discussing our class norms and some things that we value in a class. We then experimented by completing some activities to see which values were most important.

In our first activity we had to stand on a tarpaulin and flip it over without touching the ground. We did a fantastic job of this! We realised that communication was key to this challenge; we needed to discuss a strategy and work together to carry it out.

We then got into our reading groups and practiced working together. We did some collaborative activities (we all worked together on the same task) and some cooperative activities (we each had our own task to complete to accomplish a shared goal).
